Summary/Objective
This position is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the bank, to include assisting in the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records through preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of accounts and statements, helping to ensure the accuracy of the bank's reported financial results, and that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Day-to-Day Operations
1.ย  ย  ย  Help maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures,
2.ย  ย  ย  Support the day-to-day operations of the accounting function of the bank,
3.ย  ย  ย  Support the transaction-processing operations.
Transactions
1.ย  ย  ย  Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner,
2.ย  ย  ย  Maintain fixed asset records and process depreciation,
3.ย  ย  ย  Maintain prepaid expense records and process amortization,
4.ย  ย  ย  Ensure that periodic correspondent bank reconciliations are completed and outstanding items are cleared in a timely fashion,
5.ย  ย  ย  Maintain an orderly accounting filing system,
6.ย  ย  ย  Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions,
Reporting
1.ย  ย  ย  Assist in the issuance of timely and complete financial statements,
2.ย  ย  ย  Preparation of supporting information for regulatory reports to banking regulators,
3.ย  ย  ย  Assist in the calculation and issuance of financial and operating metrics,
4.ย  ย  ย  Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management,
5.ย  ย  ย  Oversee the bankโ€™s vendor management program and reporting.
ย Compliance
ย 1.ย  ย  ย  Assist in the coordination of the provision of information to external and internal auditors for their periodic reviews,
2.ย  ย  ย  Assist in the coordination of the provision of information to the regulators of the bank during their examinations,

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position.ย  Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a one-hour lunch break, but may change depending on staffing needs and workload.ย  This position requires occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.

Minimum Required Education and Experience
ยทย  ย  ย  Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.ย 
ยทย  ย  ย Three or more years of Accounting experience; OR Equivalent combinations of experience, training and/or education approved by Human Resources.
Preferred Education and Experience
ยทย  ย  ย  Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.ย 
ยทย  ย  ย  2-3 years of progressively responsible experience in a community bank.
