Job description

CareArc is accepting applications for a full-time Accountant to join our team. The accountant performs all processes related to payroll, accounts payable and general accounting functions; records monies received on daily log; record deposits in accounting software and assists the CFO in many general duties. The accountant analyzes financial information and prepares financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.

Primary Functions

  • Punctuality and being present are the first essential functions of the job.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing, posting, and recording of all relevant financial transactions or information as assigned (A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger, cash management, financial reporting, statement preparation, and operational reporting).
  • Report to management regarding the finances of establishment
  • Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology.
  • Provide training and support to operational areas on procedures related to the timely and accurate capture and processing of all relevant financial and operational information.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. Assist in annual budgeting process.
  • Maintain providers continued medical education accounts.
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  • Accurately maintain KPERS and 403(b) accounts by organizing employee withholdings, filing pay period report and making changes as needed.
  • Perform managerial accounting functions by communicating with Department Directors about their financials.
  • Complete all other duties as needed to promote the well-being of CareArc and its mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Required, Field of Study: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field. Work and other experience may be substituted for degree.
