The Account Receivable Specialist provides accounting support to the Marina Management, including but not limited to accounts receivable, collections efforts and tracking, and account reconciliation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review Member accounts for delinquent balances, verify accuracy of balances.
  • Follow SOP related to timing of collection calls, emails, and impound notices.
  • Speaking with vendors and suppliers to ensure charges are accurate and the payments are received in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with customers to discuss account statuses, charges, or discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping of all collection attempts, balances collected, and status updates.
  • Provide weekly updates to Management on status of delinquent accounts and collection efforts.
  • Work closely with Assistant General Manager on boat auction procedures.
  • Assist with marina office tasks and coverage as needed, including assistance in gathering appropriate insurance for Members and inventory receiving as needed.
  • Availability to work overtime to meet deadlines.

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
  • Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area
  • Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
  • 2 years' relevant experience preferred
  • Previous marina experience a plus
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Any skills considered standard that an Accounting Assistant should possess
