Job description

The Account Maintenance Specialist is responsible for accurately processing account updates, maintaining customer records, and managing Overdraft Protection services in accordance with bank policies and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of bank systems, deposit account types, and regulatory compliance standards. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and effective communication are essential to ensure operations efficiency.

Essential Duties

1. Ability to learn and understand bank policy and bank software.

2. Provide internal and external customer service in person or by phone.

3. Work with Exceptions Processing to maintain and change DDA acct types as requested by the customer.

4. Assist other departments with special projects relating to CIF and account maintenance.

5. Be able to explain maintenance procedures to other bank personnel clearly and effectively.

6. Maintain and update critical customer information such as: address, contact information, government issued identification, employer/occupation, and Form W8s.

7. Maintain and modify account relationships for Demand Deposit Accounts, CDs, and Safe Deposit Boxes.

8. Have good knowledge of the ODP program and other available overdraft protection options.

9. Confidential use of Chex Systems & Experian databases for reporting purposes.

10. Charge off and close accounts in accordance with company policy

11. Process daily Maintenance and ODP Reports.

12. Ensure proper establishment of Automatic Funds and Sweep transfers.

13. Maintain Credit Disputes received via e-Oscar portal and Chex Systems.

14. Maintenance Deceased Customer's CIF/accounts and notify Exceptions Processing of government credits to be returned.

15. Perform a semi-annual audit of the Overdraft Protection program to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

16. Provide support across other Deposit Operations functions as needed.

17. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

18. Furnish prompt, efficient and accurate service in processing requests.

19. Attention to detail and excellent communication skills are required.

20. Maintain work area in a clean, neat and professional appearance.

21. Maintain our customer's confidentiality in accordance with bank policy.

22. Participate in training sessions as required by supervisor.
