Account Executive Project Manager information

What is an account executive project manager?

An Account Executive Project Manager is a professional who combines client relationship management with project oversight. They act as a main point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met while also planning, coordinating, and executing projects from start to finish. This role involves managing timelines, budgets, and team resources to deliver successful outcomes for clients. They bridge the gap between clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an account executive project manager?

To thrive as an Account Executive Project Manager, you need expertise in client relationship management, project planning, and a background in business or marketing, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with CRM software, project management tools like Asana or Trello, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite are typically required. Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills make someone stand out in this role. These capabilities are crucial for delivering projects on time, maintaining strong client partnerships, and ensuring smooth coordination among teams.

How does an account executive project manager typically balance client expectations with project timelines and internal resources?

An Account Executive Project Manager plays a critical role in managing both client relationships and project delivery. Balancing client expectations with timelines and internal resources often involves transparent communication, proactive planning, and regular status updates. This role requires strong coordination between clients, creative teams, and other stakeholders to ensure deliverables meet quality standards and deadlines. Building trust with clients while advocating for realistic timelines internally is a common challenge, but it also provides opportunities to develop negotiation and leadership skills.

  3. Identify growth opportunities and proactively engage with clients through in-person meetings, field visits, and ongoing dialogue
  4. Qualify and manage opportunities from multiple channels, including self-generated outreach, inbound inquiries, and internal handoffs
  5. Collaborate with Senior Account Executives, Project Specialists, Consumer Experience, and International Sales teams to determine the right resources across each opportunity
  6. Develop tailored presentations and proposals that communicate Ledge's value, product offering, design perspective, and project support capabilities
  7. Translate client and project needs into clear next steps that support accurate quoting, product recommendations, order execution, project timelines, and delivery expectations
  8. Maintain disciplined pipeline management, including accurate sales forecasts, activity tracking, opportunity stages, and CRM reporting
  9. Participate in trade shows, industry events, client meetings, and market visits to increase brand visibility and grow relationships

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of project-based sales cycles, from early development through design, proposal, product production, order execution, and delivery
  • Highly motivated and solutions-oriented; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with travel as required to grow business
  • Ability to engage with internal and external senior stakeholders through strong communication and presentation skills
  • Resourceful and composed when priorities shift, with the ability to create structure, solve problems, and move opportunities forward
  • Proficient in CRM systems, Microsoft Office, or Google Workspace; HubSpot or NetSuite experience preferred
