Position Description
The Account Associate Group serves a unique and dynamic role focused on delivering best-in-class service to PIMCO's institutional clients. The individuals that make up this team collaborate within the broader Client Management group to ensure delivery of high-quality, consistent, and timely client service across a diverse range of asset classes and investment mandates.
The primary responsibility of associates and analysts is to work alongside Account Managers as part of dedicated relationship teams. This includes gathering, analyzing, and discussing economic and fixed income trends, evaluating portfolio structures and strategies, and delivering performance attribution and portfolio insights to clients.
In addition, the team increasingly leverages data, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance client service, scale coverage efforts, and generate actionable insights. Associates are expected to identify opportunities to improve workflows, apply AI-enabled tools with sound judgment, and support more efficient, tailored, and insight-driven client engagement.
Beyond client servicing, Associates play a critical role in supporting the operating infrastructure of client coverage-maintaining high standards across reporting, coordination, and execution. This position offers a strong foundation for long-term career development within PIMCO, with many individuals progressing into client-facing roles, product specialist positions, or other areas across the firm.

This role can be based in Newport Beach, CA, Austin, TX, or New York, NY.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Client Servicing & Portfolio Analysis: Deliver core client servicing materials (portfolio reviews, performance attribution and reporting) and respond to client inquiries with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner closely with product specialists, operations, and compliance to coordinate client activity and resolve requests.
  • Business Development Support: Conduct ongoing client and prospect research by synthesizing internal insights and external market intelligence. Monitor allocation trends and organizational developments to identify actionable insights and opportunities, which inform outreach and meeting preparation.
  • CRM, Pipeline & Business Planning: Maintain and enhance CRM records, client activity tracking, and pipeline visibility. Track client engagement, investment activity, and relationship development to enable proactive coverage.
  • Reporting & Workflow Optimization: Leverage data and AI-enabled tools to enhance reporting efficiency, quality, speed, and scalability. Identify opportunities to streamline workflows (e.g., reporting, meeting preparation, data aggregation) through automation and process improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (Business/Finance, Economics, or Accounting), progress toward the CFA designation is a plus
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in financial services, asset management, investment banking or accounting
  • Completion of Series 7 and 63 within the first six (6) months of employment
  • Knowledge of and interest in the financial markets, fixed income, and portfolio management techniques
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with financial tools (e.g., Bloomberg, index provider databases, query tools)
  • Interest and exposure to data analysis, automation tools, AI-assisted workflows; ability and willingness to learn emerging technologies and adopt them in a client-facing context
  • Self-starter, ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-performance environment

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 105,000.00 - $ 115,000.00
