The QA Lead builds and maintains the testing frameworks, libraries, tools, run times, and reporting and analytics that make quality accessible and intuitive for engineers across SteerBridge, and brings deep technical expertise in the internals of frameworks such as Pytest, Cypress, Playwright, and TestNG.

Beyond the technical craft, this role is expected to cultivate a culture of customer service and positive, solution-oriented problem solving. The QA Lead will regularly support technical calls and communications across supported systems, representing quality in triage, release readiness, and cross-team discussions with the same care and professionalism SteerBridge brings to its government customers.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep familiarity with test framework internals or advanced topics in Pytest, Cypress, Playwright, or TestNG, including experience extending frameworks with plugins, fixtures, and similar layers.

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Node, TypeScript, or Python.

  • Experience developing large-scale performance test rigs.

  • Experience building internal tooling such as Excel add-ons, data sanitation services, or CLIs to support engineering and QA workflows.

  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53 or other federal security compliance frameworks.

  • Experience mentoring engineers and rolling out shared test frameworks across a large engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • QA Strategy & Framework Ownership: Own SteerBridge's software QA strategy across products and platforms, including testing frameworks, libraries, tools, test run times, and reporting and analytics.

  • Compliance Validation: Partner with technical leads and Product Owners to verify that implementations correctly reflect System Design Documentation and PO priorities and requirements, and meet functional and security compliance standards prior to release.

  • Framework Engineering: Maintain deep technical understanding of test framework internals and, where appropriate, develop extensions, plugins, fixtures, and similar layers to expand testing capability.

  • Tooling & Enablement: Build tools such as Excel add-ons, data sanitation services, CLIs, and other utilities that make testing accessible and intuitive for engineers across SteerBridge.

  • Cross-Team Bridging: Bridge gaps between teams and their services by building shared libraries and reusable QA components.

  • Customer Service Culture: Model a customer service mindset in every engagement; support technical calls and communications across supported systems and approach hard problems with a positive, collaborative attitude.

  • Prototyping & Innovation: Prototype new test vectors, approaches, tools, and methods, and stay current with industry trends to keep continuous delivery processes cutting-edge.
