We are looking to add a key member to our Enterprise Security Team!

The Physical Security Technician is responsible for the daytoday execution and continuous improvement of GreatAmerica's physical security program, ensuring the safety of team members and guests, the protection of corporate assets, and the resilience of workplace operations across all facilities. This role administers and monitors physical security systems, responds to security events and incidents, supports investigations, and evaluates risks and controls to address evolving threats.

As a key member of the Enterprise Security Team, the Physical Security Analyst partners closely with Facilities, Information Security, Human Resources, Legal, and external service providers to deliver secure, compliant, and wellgoverned physical security operations. The role requires strong technical aptitude, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively to sensitive situations while maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and a serviceoriented mindset.

As a Physical Security Technician, you will:

Access Control & Surveillance

  • Responsible for day-to-day administration, maintenance, health, and stability of access control, surveillance, and related physical security systems at all GreatAmerica facilities.

  • Conduct periodic reviews of privileged access, ensure appropriate asset owners approve of all authorized access.

  • Responsible for provisioning, modification, and de-provisioning physical access for team members, contractors, and sponsored IDs to ensure access is based on role and principles of least privilege.

  • Conduct assessments and gap analysis of surveillance and access control systems against best practices and standards. Implement security improvements aligned with industry standards and regulatory frameworks.

  • Coordinate with security integrator and IT team on new system installations, upgrades, proactive and remedial maintenance, and component replacements.

  • Identify opportunities and implement solutions for automation and selfservice within physical security capabilities to reduce manual effort through secure solutions.

Events and Investigations

  • Monitor security events and incidents, ensuring timely response, escalation, documentation, and resolution.

  • Analyze logs and respond to alerts and alarms in support of workplace safety and security in all GreatAmerica facilities.

  • Respond to physical security incidents both during and outside of business hours.

  • Conduct confidential physical security investigations at the request of Human Resources and Legal - e.g. theft, vandalism, workplace violence, suspicious activity, and policy violations.

  • Preserve evidence, review video footage, and document findings in accordance with legal, HR, and regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.

Miscellaneous

  • Document system configurations, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting processes.

  • Support the development of physical security policies and standards.

  • Work closely with security desk staff to ensure guards have the knowledge and resources needed to effectively welcome guests and safeguard corporate assets.

  • Manage parking for GreatAmerica building.

  • Lead Safety Team, including training and procedures.

  • Plan and execute fire and severe weather drills and Safety Team exercises.

  • Manage safety equipment: first aid kits, AEDs, bleed kits, and personal protective equipment.

  • Support and backup Facilities Team as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience serving customers and independent problem solving

  • Experience administering access control and surveillance systems preferred

  • Demonstrated experience administering access control systems, surveillance platforms, or related physical security technologies preferred.

  • Experience supporting investigations, incident response, or emergency management activities.

  • Experience operating in a regulated environment (financial services, banking, healthcare, or similar) preferred.

  • Proven ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions in timesensitive situations.

Skills and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of physical access control systems, video surveillance platforms, alarm monitoring, and security event logging.

  • Understanding of rolebased access, leastprivilege principles, and access governance.

  • Ability to assess physical security controls and identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.

  • Ability to document procedures, investigations, and system configurations accurately and thoroughly.

  • Familiarity with safety, emergency preparedness, and workplace security best practices.

  • Strong investigative and analytical skills, including reviewing logs, video footage, and access records.
