Job description

Low Voltage Technician

Location: Idaho Falls, ID

Duration: 6-Month Contract (Strong Potential for Extension or Conversion)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians to support multiple large-scale commercial and industrial projects throughout the Idaho Falls area. This role will focus on the installation and support of structured cabling, access control systems, security cameras, and audio-visual systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for technicians who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy working on diverse technology infrastructure projects. Candidates must be able to quickly integrate into project teams, deliver high-quality work, and support less experienced team members when needed.

Technicians will meet at a central location in Idaho Falls and be transported to job sites by the dispatch team.

Required QualificationsStructured Cabling
  • 2-3+ years of experience with structured cabling installations
  • Experience pulling, terminating, and troubleshooting CAT5/CAT6 cable
  • Proficient with punch-down terminations and cable management
  • Experience working in commercial and industrial environments
Access Control
  • 2-3+ years of experience installing and supporting access control systems
  • Experience with Salto systems preferred
  • DC controls experience is highly desirable
Audio-Visual Systems
  • 2-3+ years of AV installation experience
  • Familiarity with Crestron and Q-SYS systems preferred
Key Responsibilities
  • Install and terminate structured cabling systems (CAT5/CAT6)
  • Install and support access control systems
  • Install security camera and surveillance systems
  • Perform audio-visual equipment installations
  • Troubleshoot low-voltage systems and connectivity issues
  • Complete hardware setup and teardown as needed
  • Follow safety guidelines and job site requirements
  • Collaborate effectively with project teams and mentor junior technicians when appropriate

  • Wireless Access Point (WAP) installation experience
  • Video surveillance experience

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Idaho Falls, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
