About the Ride Mechanic:
A Ride Mechanic I performs routine maintenance, inspections, and basic repairs on rides and attractions to ensure safe, reliable operation. This entry-level role involves hands-on troubleshooting, cleaning, and minor facility repairs while supporting the maintenance team to help create a safe, enjoyable guest experience.
What You'll Do
  • Keep Rides Running: Perform daily checks and basic maintenance on rides to ensure safe operation.
  • Fix the Basics: Assist with simple mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs.
  • Stay Alert: Conduct routine inspections and report any safety concerns to Maintenance Leads.
  • Help Out Around the Park: Clean, sand, paint, and make minor repairs to rides and facilities.
  • Document Your Work: Keep accurate logs of maintenance and repairs performed.

Requirements
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Able to frequently lift and carry items up to 40 lbs; occasionally lift/move items up to 100 lbs.
  • Able to climb, kneel, crawl, balance, and work in confined or elevated spaces (up to and over 70 feet).
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Normal hearing range required for radio and verbal communication.
  • Must be comfortable working in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably with amusement rides, heavy machinery, or similar equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with basic understanding of amusement ride systems and equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable working independently and within a team.
  • Ability to think critically and remain calm when troubleshooting under pressure.
  • Computer proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must possess basic hand tools.
