Job description

We Are

Accenture's Consumer Goods & Services practice helps the world's leading brands reinvent how they grow, compete, and operate. We work with food and beverage, beauty and personal care, household products, consumer health, pet care, and agribusiness clients at the intersection of enterprise strategy, commercial growth, operating model reinvention, M&A and integration, and AI-enabled decision making. We combine industry depth with strategy, technology, operations, data, and talent capabilities to turn CEO-level priorities into measurable revenue, margin, and enterprise-value outcomes.

You Are

A senior strategy leader who combines top-tier consulting experience with senior operating experience building and scaling growth engines. You have led enterprise growth strategy, portfolio and business model decisions, commercial and operating model transformations, and M&A or integration agendas. You understand consumer brands, product and innovation economics, customer and consumer needs, and how growth choices translate into execution across marketing, sales, operations, technology, and talent. You are comfortable advising CEOs and executive teams, shaping an ambiguous question into a fact-based value case and actionable roadmap, and staying accountable through execution. You can originate work, mobilize cross-functional teams, and develop leaders while maintaining high standards for quality and commercial outcomes.

The Work

As an Associate Director, you will lead CEO- and C-suite-level strategy and reinvention engagements for Consumer Goods clients. You will shape and sell work, lead multi-workstream delivery, and help clients convert growth, portfolio, integration, and operating-model priorities into measurable results.

Executive and Engagement Leadership

  • Lead large, complex strategy and enterprise-reinvention programs with multiple concurrent workstreams and senior stakeholder groups.
  • Own relationships with client CEOs, business-unit presidents, CFOs, CMOs, Chief Sales Officers, COOs, CSCOs, and strategy or corporate-development leaders.
  • Translate ambiguous executive questions into testable hypotheses, focused workplans, executive decisions, and sequenced transformation roadmaps.
  • Orchestrate cross-functional teams spanning strategy, finance and value, commercial, operations, data and AI, technology, talent, and change management.
  • Ensure engagement quality, timeliness, financial performance, and risk management; resolve escalations and maintain alignment across differing stakeholder perspectives.

Growth Strategy and Enterprise Reinvention

  • Define enterprise and business-unit growth strategies, market and category choices, portfolio priorities, and business-model options.
  • Build growth engines spanning consumer and customer strategy, brand and innovation, commercial excellence, pricing and revenue growth management, route-to-market, partnerships, and new ventures.
  • Design operating models, decision rights, governance, organization structures, capabilities, and performance-management systems required to execute the strategy.
  • Develop fact-based value cases, scenario models, revenue and margin bridges, investment priorities, and benefit-realization plans.
  • Shape reinvention programs around Accenture's Consumer Goods priorities, including the Enterprise Performance Engine, Connected Sales Reinvention, and Insight-to-Launch.
  • Apply sub-industry nuance across food and beverage, beauty and personal care, household products, consumer health, pet care, and agribusiness to tailor recommendations to client-specific economics and routes to market.

M&A, Integration, and Portfolio Transformation

  • Advise clients on strategic alternatives, portfolio reshaping, partnerships, acquisitions, divestitures, and inorganic-growth priorities.
  • Lead integration strategy, growth-synergy identification, Day 1 and Day 2 operating-model design, and value-capture planning.
  • Protect brand, customer, and talent momentum while integrating commercial, operational, technology, and corporate capabilities.
  • Establish integration governance, decision forums, metrics, and value-tracking mechanisms that connect transaction logic to realized outcomes.

AI, Data, and Digital Growth Enablement

  • Identify where AI, analytics, and data can unlock growth, improve decision quality, accelerate innovation, and increase enterprise productivity.
  • Translate priority use cases into the process, operating-model, data, technology, governance, and workforce changes required for enterprise adoption.
  • Use GenAI and agentic tools to accelerate research, consumer and customer insight, strategy development, scenario planning, and executive decision support.
  • Partner with AI, data, technology, and ecosystem teams to move solutions from proof of concept to scaled business impact with responsible-AI controls.

Business Development and Practice Growth

  • Originate and shape Consumer Goods strategy and reinvention opportunities, including C-suite sessions, proposals, solution architectures, value cases, and commercial models.
  • Lead pursuit teams, coordinate account and offering stakeholders, and maintain momentum from initial executive dialogue through a funded mandate.
  • Build reusable assets, case studies, thought leadership, and market points of view that strengthen the Consumer Goods growth-strategy proposition.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop managers and consultants; contribute to recruiting, staffing, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Support account planning and pipeline development across priority North American Consumer Goods clients.

Principal Directors have:

  • Executive presence and the ability to lead fact-based, decision-oriented discussions with C-suite and Board-level stakeholders.
  • Deep capability in enterprise and growth strategy, commercial strategy, operating-model design, portfolio choices, and value creation.
  • Ability to lead large, multi-workstream programs and mobilize cross-functional teams across strategy, technology, operations, and talent.
  • Strong client relationship management, business development, negotiation, and stakeholder-alignment skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving, financial and strategic analysis, synthesis, and business judgment.
  • Ability to convert complex analysis into clear executive narratives, choices, and actionable roadmaps.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving situations and resolving issues and risks proactively.
  • Ability to coach senior team members, build high-performing teams, and create an inclusive, accountable working environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, based on client and project needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 12 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategy consulting, professional services, or an equivalent internal corporate-strategy role.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in one or more of the following: enterprise or growth strategy, corporate development, commercial strategy, business-model design, M&A and integration, or operating-model transformation.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading complex, multi-workstream strategy or transformation programs and managing teams.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working directly with C-suite or senior executive stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience shaping consulting engagements, proposals, or executive-sponsored business cases.

Preferred:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated Consumer Goods or consumer-facing industry experience in one or more of the following: brand or product strategy, innovation, marketing, sales, commercial growth, portfolio strategy, or business-unit leadership.
  • Experience developing financial and strategic value cases and linking recommendations to implementation and benefit realization.
  • Working knowledge of current AI, data, digital-commerce, and technology trends and how they apply to Consumer Goods growth and operating-model challenges.
  • Prior senior operating role in strategy, growth, integration, corporate development, marketing, business development, or commercial leadership.
  • Prior Accenture experience or experience at a leading strategy or management consulting firm.
  • Experience across one or more Consumer Goods sub-industries, including food and beverage, beauty and personal care, household products, consumer health, pet care, or agribusiness.
  • Experience leading post-merger integration, growth-synergy capture, portfolio transformation, or strategic-partnership programs.
  • Experience with revenue growth management, customer strategy, route-to-market, new ventures, or ecosystem-enabled growth.
  • Hands-on experience leveraging AI tools such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, or Gemini in a professional environment.
  • Experience leading enterprise initiatives across multiple business units, geographies, or functional organizations.
