Pay Range

$83.22 - $128.99Job DescriptionThe Staff Physicist coordinates the radiation safety program for the radiation oncology department. Performs and reviews all aspects of radiotherapy patient- and equipment-related planning and quality assurance. Assists dosimetrists and physicians in special physics consultation(s) to evaluate feasibility of IMRT, SRS, SBRT and other therapeutic external beam delivery. Assists therapists in patient set-up and treatment delivery as necessary. Performs all aspects of radionuclide- and brachytherapy-related physics services. Coordinates TLD/Invivo dosimetry services: logs and reviews accelerator performance problems; liaises with service/manufacturer; and troubleshooting. Image guidance: Assess image guidance capabilities of the imaging systems: image quality, registration and set up corrections.
Education
MS or PhD in physics or medical physics required
Certification & Licensures
Certification in therapeutic medical physics (or therapeutic radiological physics or radiological physics):
American Board of Radiology.
American Board of Medical Physics.
Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine. State Licensure required
Qualifications
Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply based on the age of the patient served required
