Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc. is hiring a MTS Software Development Eng. to Research, design, develop, and/or test operating systems-level software, compilers, and/or network distribution software for semiconductor operations. Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for enhancements and new products. Understand and define software requirements and architectures. Develop AI software and utilize in production of AI features like LLM-powered agents to generate and optimize GPU kernels, incorporating compiler and profiler feedback, automated benchmarking, and reward-driven optimization loops.  Develop AI systems courses covering GPU optimization, transformer architectures, and reinforcement learning algorithms. Drive software and systems solutions including development and product definitions. Project manage end-to-end AI course development workflows, coordinating with external partner teams and internal subject matter experts. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results with little to no supervision. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including computer hardware and software, applications, and programming, as well as knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD systems and products.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Machine Learning and Data Science, or related field.

Qualifications: Amount and type of experience required: One (1) year of experience as a Software Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or closely related engineering occupation.

Specific skills required: The following skills are required:

Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following:

  • C, C++, or Python;
  • Machine learning software development;
  • Developing machine learning or AI models;
  • Data structures;
  • Git and SQL.

Position requires any amount of experience in the following:

  • Developing data pipelines
