Responsibilities & Qualifications
The Novelis IT Infrastructure team is seeking a Senior Lead Hosting Administrator. The person in this role will report to the Director Global Infrastructure - Hosting. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise hosting infrastructure for data centers and remote sites. Key duties include operating servers, storage, and virtualization platforms to meet business needs, ensuring high system availability and performance. This position includes overseeing daily operations, enforcing standards, managing virtual data centers, disaster recovery capabilities, vendor interface/coordination, and driving operational maturity through documentation, KPI tracking, and partner engagement.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain enterprise data center and hosting infrastructure to support both data centers and remote sites, ensuring robust and reliable IT operations.
  • Develop plans to employ appropriate technology for business initiatives, encompassing requirements definition, technology evaluation, standards development, cost optimization, capacity planning, cybersecurity, and lifecycle management.
  • Develop, communicate, implement, and enforce technical standards across the organization; track compliance and engage collaborators to address any gaps.
  • Optimize server, storage, and data center operations for execution excellence, meeting or exceeding established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Operate hosting and data center infrastructure through proactive planning, continuous monitoring, preventive maintenance, and effective execution.
  • Deploy and support virtual data center environments, including periodic refreshes and new deployments to ensure infrastructure currency.
  • Maintain disaster recovery readiness and implement improvements to simplify and accelerate recovery processes; serve as technical issue point during outages to restore service within required timeframes.
  • Coordinate and guide managed services and outsourced partners in deployment practices, operational hygiene, and service delivery expectations.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure delivery outcomes align with operational needs and organizational commitments.
  • Maintain documentation and operational artifacts throughout the infrastructure lifecycle, supporting governance and install-to-decommission processes.
  • Embrace Novelis Safety Absolutes and cultural beliefs, fostering a zero-injury and trust-based culture within the team and organization.
  • Apply common frameworks and orchestration tools to automate routine tasks, including monitoring, alert responses, VM provisioning/deprovisioning, CMDB management, failover, maintenance, and reporting.
  • Ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions with on-premise infrastructure and support ongoing IT and business operations.
  • Adhere to and support company quality, environmental, health & safety, and certification standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI Certifications, where applicable.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
  • 4-6 years of experience in technical support
  • Detailed knowledge of Data Center hardware and networking systems
  • In-depth working knowledge with Microsoft Windows Server and Hyper-V, Linux, VMware and Azure
  • Ability to read, develop, and debug software with Java, PowerShell, bicep, Terraform
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, deep technical aptitude, and the ability to explain solutions to complex technical problems
  • Excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills for diverse issues in high-pressure, complex, multi-platform/system/vendor environments
  • Prioritize deliverables alongside the needs of the business
  • Commitment to quality and customer service
  • Flexibility to travel depending on project requirements
