Job description

This position will split time between our Renaissance Villa and Renaissance Taylor locations.

Exempt/Salaried (full time; 10-months; flexibility of hours for some nights and weekend activities)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and data-driven Special Education Intervention Teacher to provide targeted reading and math intervention services for students requiring additional academic support. This role is ideal for an educator who believes every student can grow, thrives on using data to drive instruction, and collaborates effectively with classroom teachers and leaders.

The Intervention Teacher plays a critical role in strengthening foundational skills, accelerating academic growth, and ensuring students receive aligned, evidence-based support across settings.

Key Responsibilities

Reading Intervention
  • Manage and monitor a caseload of students receiving tiered, datadriven reading support.
  • Deliver highimpact, evidencebased reading instruction aligned to individual student needs and network priorities using the UFLI curriculum.
  • Progress monitor regularly and adjust instruction based on student performance.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support instruction.
  • Math Intervention
  • Provide smallgroup or oneonone math intervention aligned with gradelevel goals.
  • Use diagnostic and progress monitoring tools to identify and address conceptual gaps.

  • Partner with classroom teachers to ensure coherence between intervention and core instruction.
  • Lesson Planning & Instruction
  • Create an appropriate education plan based on the studentโ€™s most recent IEP.
  • Develop data-informed lesson plans aligned to grade-level standards and individualized goals.

  • Incorporate networkaligned instructional resources (e.g., Zearn, UFLI, and other approved curricula).
  • Plan for differentiation and scaffolded instruction to provide multiple entry points for learners.
  • Data & Progress Monitoring
  • Analyze benchmark data (MAP, aimswebPlus, etc.) to identify student needs and instructional priorities.
  • Track student growth consistently and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Contribute data to MTSS team discussions, tier placement decisions, and instructional planning.
  • Referrals & IEP Support
  • Document interventions and student response to instruction.
  • Participate in referral discussions and IEP meetings as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff to support early identification and informed eligibility decisions.
  • Pull-Out & Push-In Services
  • Deliver structured pullout instruction focused on foundational skill development.
  • Minimize disruption to core instruction and maintain strong communication with teachers.
  • Provide pushin support aligned with classroom objectives.
  • Model best practices in scaffolded instruction, smallgroup facilitation, and classroom behavior supports.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited institution
  • Wisconsin DPI License in Cross Categorical Special Education or in an area of regular education (preferred).
  • Experience delivering reading and/or math interventions preferred
  • Strong understanding of foundational literacy and numeracy development
  • Experience using data systems such as MAP and aimswebPlus
  • Knowledge of MTSS frameworks and special education referral processes
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Commitment to high expectations and studentcentered instruction
  • Preferred Experience
  • Experience in urban or diverse school settings
  • Training in Science of Readingaligned instruction
  • Experience designing and delivering highimpact math intervention that strengthens number sense, conceptual understanding, and problemsolving aligned to gradelevel standards.
