Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on machinery/equipment and perform timely repairs
  • Establish appropriate frequency and perform regular preventive maintenance activities on a limited amount of equipment in the facility
  • Perform timely facility/building maintenance and minor repairs, and maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Dismantle defective machines/equipment and install new or repaired equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs
  • Coordinate and make recommendations on work-related contracts and services
  • Supervise outside contractors when needed for mechanical and electrical repairs and maintenance
  • Participate in, support, and comply with all health, safety, quality, and lean initiatives and requirements
Qualifications
  • Must have mechanical and technical aptitude
  • 1-3 years experience in an industrial, maintenance environment
  • College degree or certificate in a technical area or related field
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings
  • Experience using basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gauges
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift up to 40 lbs
  • Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems
  • Basic computer knowledge to complete data entry
  • Must obtain and maintain current certification to operate material handling equipment such as, forklift, side-loader, 4-directional lift, or cherry picker
