Job description

Pediatric Developmental Services (PDS) is seeking to hire a full-time Sign Language Interpreter Are you passionate about helping all students reach their potential? Sign Language Interpreter Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating Communication: Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa to ensure the student can fully understand and participate in classroom activities and discussions.
  • Supporting Academic Success: Assist the student by interpreting lectures, instructions, and multimedia content to help them engage with the curriculum.
  • Encouraging Social Interaction: Facilitate communication between the student and their peers to support their social development and inclusion.
  • Providing Accessibility: Interpret during extracurricular activities, assemblies, and special events to ensure the student has equal access to all aspects of school life.
  • Collaborating with Staff: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to adapt and implement strategies tailored to the student's needs.
