We are seeking a Resident Construction Manager to be responsible for managing a variety of construction and rehabilitation projects with the Allegheny County Airport Authority located in Pittsburgh. PA.
JMT is involved with an increasing number of projects with the Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) who manages both PIT Airport in Moon Twp., PA as well as the regional airport AGC in West Mifflin, PA. This opportunity is to fill the role of Resident Construction Manager for a variety of project types ranging from landside and airside pavement replacement to electrical focused projects as well as MEP projects with single or multi-prime contracts. The selected candidate will be required to operate in a dynamic environment as a direct extension of our client's staff and leverage their prior experiences delivering construction projects within time-sensitive schedules. The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, communicate timely and accurately, and have experience working on aviation projects. The candidate must also be able to pass a federal background check.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, tenants, stakeholders, designers, and contractors
  • Communicate and manage any and all issues and potential risks as they pertain to projects
  • Actively manage project schedule from inception to close out
  • Review contractor work in place to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
  • Conduct weekly site reviews / meetings, create minutes, assign action items, and follow up
  • Upload and manage all pertinent project information to the chosen PMIS
  • Review and measure work in place and approve contractor monthly requisitions
  • Develop and implement collaborative solutions to project issues and problems
  • Audit and negotiate project related change orders and obtain approvals
  • Manage job work item turn over and close-out efficiently to meet owner/user expectations
  • Assist and coordinate with 3rd party engineering and special inspections requirements

    • Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening

Required Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of construction experience serving as a Resident Construction Manager, Lead Construction Inspector, or Construction Superintendent

Preferred Experience
  • Aviation knowledge including airfield driving privileges
  • NICET Certification
  • Experience with multi-prime construction projects

Working Conditions
Work is 100% performed in a field (construction) environment. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required.
Travel required.
