Summary

We are looking for a Senior Backend-focused Developer to join theteam, the strategic network orchestration and automation engine for Bell Business Markets (Network as Code approach). Your mission will be to design, develop, and scale our network automation platform using cutting-edge, cloud-native technologies.

As we embark on a transformative vision to integrate Artificial Intelligence into our workflows, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Bell’s networks. We are seeking a professional with a strongNetDevOps mindset: someone who brings software engineering excellence while understanding network and security principles. You will mentor team members, drive architectural decisions, and ensure the absolute security, performance, and reliability of our platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend APIs and microservices.
  • Act as a technical bridge (NetDevOps): analyze complex networking and security requirements and translate them into scalable software logic within the platform.
  • Act as a technical expert on the evolution of the software architecture.
  • Champion software quality and strict development methodologies, ensuring mandatory unit/integration testing and zero-regression within our blocking CI/CD pipelines.
  • Actively participate in rigorous Agile ceremonies and ensure thorough technical documentation (the "Why") on Confluence.
  • Collaborate with other developers, Product Owners, and external network experts to integrate new features and scale network coverage.
  • Support other team members, exercise technical leadership, and facilitate knowledge transfer (e.g., via pair programming).
  • Proactively identify technical debt and leverage dedicated OPEX capacity to implement sustainable fixes.
Critical Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development.
  • Excellent proficiency inPythonand modern backend frameworks (e.g.,FastAPI).
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native microservices architecture and deployment.
  • Hands‑on experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes in a private or public cloud environment.
  • Strong background in CI/CD practices and automated testing (TDD, Integration testing).
  • Good knowledge of TypeScript and familiarity with a frontend framework like Vue.js.
  • Experience with SQL databases.
  • Experience working in a structured Agile software development team (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Good knowledge of object-oriented programming and SOLID principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Solid understanding of networking and cybersecurity concepts, with exposure to vendors and technologies such as Fortinet, Cisco, Meraki, or Arista, is considered a significant asset.
  • Interest or foundational knowledge in integrating AI capabilities (LLMs, RAG, LangChain, etc.) into enterprise software.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
  • Experience in frontend development (Vue.js preferred).
  • Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
