Abrams Tank Maintenance Mechanic Fort Hood, TX $31.47/Hour Ability to Obtain Secret Clearance Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.

Responsibilities: Conduct preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on Abrams tanks (M1A1 SA, M1A2 SEP V2, SEP V3) Execute and install Modification Work Orders (MWOs) on vehicle systems and components Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electronic issues using technical manuals, flow diagrams, and diagnostic procedures Perform repairs on vehicle systems, subsystems, and components Maintain accountability of special tools, test equipment, and assigned property Support maintenance, fielding, and retrofit operations as directed by leadership Qualifications: U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law High school diploma or equivalent Ability to obtain access to U.S. military installations (NACI clearance if required) Minimum 1+ year of mechanical maintenance experience Experience with Abrams tanks (M1A1, M1A2 SEP V2/V3) preferred Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic flowcharts Certifications/Requirements: Valid state driver's license and ability to obtain a tank driver's license Ability to pass Abrams Job Proficiency Certification Must meet anthropometric (ASR) requirements for operating military vehicles Physical Requirements: Lift/carry up to 50 lbs, climb, and work at heights Work in extreme temperatures and outdoor environments Work Environment: Ability to work independently alongside government personnel Travel: Willingness to travel for maintenance, fielding, and retrofit operations (CONUS) **This job includes a competitive prevailing wage, which ensures you are paid according to legally required local industry standards when assigned to eligible government-funded projects.
