Job description

PURPOSE:
The Body Shop Parts Production assistant verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments. Inventory, store, and disperse parts and/or materials as needed by the technicians. Communicate with Production Manager and related staff regarding tasks necessary to aid with shop productivity.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Count, weigh, or measure items in incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records.
  • Affix shipping labels on packed cartons, or stencil identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
  • Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Ensure that outgoing shipments meet specifications.
  • Inspect, inventory, or disperse incoming shipments of parts/materials.
  • Gather parts from inventory for technicians.
  • Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.
  • Assist Detail Department in times of need.
  • Run vehicles/parts to outside vendors.
  • Occasional customer or coworker transportation.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Experience in an automotive repair field preferred.
  • Professional personal appearance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
