About the role
TheLogistics Operator is involved with the successful daily operation of the AAKPort Newark, NJ facility on a 5-day a week, day-shift basis. Some daily andweekend overtime is necessary. Theposition requires attention to detail, good record keeping, and the safe andefficient operation of equipment.
TheLogistics Operator is responsible for:
RailCars- Loading and offloading
LoadingTank Wagons in Load out and outside near Tank Farm 1, Spot 5, Spot 7, TF 4,Warehouse.
Tankwagon- offloading
CBE-set up heating and off-loading
CBE-trailerbreak down and clean up
Warehouse-Packagingproduct in totes, drums, and pails.
Warehouse-Shipping,receiving and administration
Maintaindaily/ weekly/ monthly housekeeping outside the production building/refinery/Tank Farms and inside stairwells and other areas as directed.
Responsibilities
Accountable for:
Maintaining sanitation standards for assigned areas.
Loading vegetable oil in railcars/tank wagons and accurately completing documentation.
Following procedures to safely off-load rail cars/tank wagons/CBEs/totes/drums.
Zero lost time injuries while performing job.
Responsible for:
Assisting refinery operators in tasks requiring additional manpower.
Using the forklift and other company tools and equipment in proper and safe method.
Assisting with packaging, shipping, and maintaining warehouse organization.
Assisting maintenance employees with their tasks as able and as requested.
Communicating effectively with the day supervisor on issues and problems that may occur.
Report all incidents to Supervisor/Manager.
Participating in company activities such as; Safety Committee, Audit committees, employee task force, Kaizen Teams etc. Contribute to the effort in controlling costs and minimizing waste.
Following company PPE policy and ensuring it is administered on-site.
Proper documentation and data entry.
Understanding and following environmental protection policies set forth by company.
About you
8 hour OSHA on site safety training
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Forklift certification. (preferred)
Able to operate manual or electrical pallet jacks.
Computer literate.
Strong problem solving and math skills
Strong equipment troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication (verbal and written), time management and organizational skills
2-3 years in related field or related experience in manufacturing facility (preferred)
