Position: Project Coordinator
Reports To: Director of PMO
Location: Directorate of Public Works (DPW), Fort Stewart, GA and Hunter Army Airfield, GA (On-Site)

Schedule: Monday – Friday 0730–1600
Salary/Hourly Rate: $32 - $35/hour

Job Summary

The Project Coordinator will provide project coordination support to the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. The role supports Operations and Maintenance Army (OMA), Major Capability Acquisition (MCA), Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), customer reimbursable, and other special projects.

The Project Coordinator delivers complete and coordinated design products for execution through the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) or the Mission Installation Contracting Command (MICC). This role ensures design products are complete, compliant with applicable codes and criteria, and delivered in accordance with established project objectives and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Coordinator shall execute responsibilities in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), including but not limited to:

Project Coordination & Delivery

  • Deliver complete and coordinated design products for execution through USACE or MICC.
  • Coordinate engineering and administrative matters between DPW Engineering, Construction Branch, Master Planning, Environmental Branch, Business Operations, and using activities.
  • Assist with coordination of Architect-Engineer (A-E) services when required.
  • Ensure all design products (plans, specifications, and estimates) are complete and executable.

Technical & Administrative Oversight

  • Review technical criteria against project objectives to determine if design products will perform as intended.
  • Screen review comments to confirm they are within scope and compliant with applicable technical criteria.
  • Initiate and coordinate measures to resolve potential technical and administrative issues.
  • Coordinate design measures that may be conventional or complex and involve multiple components or phases.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Develop project-specific coordination procedures.
  • Provide monthly status reports to the DPW Engineering Plans and Services Division Chief.
  • Ensure design products comply with applicable codes and criteria, including but not limited to:
    • International Fire Code (IFC)
    • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
    • Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
    • Applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements
  • Support Quality Control and Quality Assurance processes as defined by the contract.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel periodically between Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield as required.
  • Complete required federal training (IAT Level I, OPSEC, iWATCH, etc.) within prescribed timelines.
  • Participate in post-award conferences and periodic progress meetings as required.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional government office environment within the Directorate of Public Works. The role routinely uses standard office equipment and government-furnished systems.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.

Minimum Qualifications (In Full Compliance with PWS)

The candidate shall meet one of the following credential pathways:

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited school of Engineering or Engineering Technology;
    OR
  • Equivalent degree in a related field such as Architecture;
    OR
  • Current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or other nationally recognized certifying entity;
    OR
  • Current Unlimited General Contractor's (UGC) License.

Additionally:

  • Minimum two (2) years of significant construction project experience in the applicable capacity.
  • Ability to successfully pass a federal background check and obtain/maintain Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.
