Job description

Job Title: Housekeeping - Inspector
Pay Rate: $19.75/Hr.
Job Summary:

As a member of our Housekeeping team, this position will supervise employees working within the Housekeeping operation and will conduct daily room inspections while ensuring that Departmental and Hotel policies and procedures are followed, and that cleanliness and service standards are maintained.

What you will be doing:
  • Monitors the cleanliness and maintenance of guest accommodations and surrounding areas.
  • Ensures that all Forbes and AAA standards within scope of responsibility are properly executed by conducting frequent formal and informal performance audits as outlined within the Department's Room Inspection Program.
  • Inspect between twenty to thirty guest rooms per shift.
  • Communicates pertinent information to employees regarding daily expectations.
  • Provides detailed information about guest requests and follows up to ensure timely delivery and accurate execution.
  • Provides valuable leadership including support, encouragement, and employee recognition.
  • Engages in the employee improvement process through training, re-training, coaching, counseling, and administering Records of Conversation.
  • Aids in the completion of Guest Room Attendant assignments by performing duties such as making beds, debris, and soiled linen removal, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning and supplying guest rooms.
  • Responsible for key policy procedures, assigning and maintaining equipment and protecting company property.
  • Acquires complete understanding of the Hotel's Safety and Security guidelines, SDS compliance and actively participates in fire / safety drills.
  • Attends regularly scheduled meetings and applicable training classes.
  • Assists in linen and supply inventories.
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Uphold and abide by all Broadmoor policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; prior Housekeeping supervisory and hospitality experience desired.
  • Ability to directly and indirectly supervises up to 30 employees within scope of responsibility. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and an aptitude to effectively utilize specified devices and related technology for operational excellence.
  • Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic team member who works well with others.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Occasional heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs. with assistance) with a work environment that may be indoors and outdoors at times. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals.
