Job description

Job Purpose:

The Senior BSA/AML Analyst is responsible for the monitoring of activity, detection, and documentation of suspicious activity of customers’, and the subsequent escalation of suspicious activity as required under the Bank Secrecy Act and the Banc’s BSA/AML Compliance Program and Procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform reviews, monitoring and analysis of various reports, logs, and transaction data to identify trends, unusual activity, and monitor large currency activity; determines if transactions are suspicious in nature.
  • Ensure efficient identification and monitoring of suspicious activities and transactions through coordination and management of system generated and manual alerts.
  • Ensure timely, efficient escalation of suspicious activities and transactions further review.
  • Makes decisions and provides rationale for disposition of alerts.
  • Responsible for inventory management of all alert level items within the BSA Department including tracking of risk metrics related to BSA Operations.
  • Coordinates Requests for Information between the BSA Department and Banc Operations.
  • Supports review of new account documentation for compliance with BSA/AML, CIP, OFAC, and CDD compliance.
  • Assist with AML screening and CDD/EDD reviews for prospective new customers in accordance with the Banc's policies and procedures.
  • Ensure timely, efficient reporting of all currency transaction reports and maintain record keeping for retention requirements.
  • Monitor the sales of monetary instruments and ensure the accuracy of any required reporting.
  • Maintain an understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing issues, including policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practices, criminal typologies and developing trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or another related field is preferred
  • Three to five years of banking experience with exposure to BSA/AML and OFAC
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML and OFAC regulations
  • Acknowledge and observe strict confidentiality requirements
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in high volume environment
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work well independently and with others
