Job description

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Engineering Supervisor, the groundskeeper assumes responsibility and accountability for performing all out door clean-up and service functions at both hospital and hospital owned properties.  Work performed in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.  Flexible working hours and winter on-call are required.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Ability to keep lawns and landscape in good condition by routine cutting of grass
  • Nurture all flowers and shrubs with associated projects
  • Complete annual mulching and weeding
  • Complete assigned rounds when required
  • Perform snow removal when required
  • Perform salting / sanding as required with special attention given to building entrances.
  • Provide service for moving equipment and / or materials throughout network
  • Monitor fuel storage of gas & diesel used by network vehicles
  • Keep equipment and vehicles clean and presentable
  • Perform semi-skilled Carpentry & Painting work
  • Perform parking lot striping and curb painting when required
  • Perform other duties as required.
Education/Experience Requirements

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
Licensure/Certification Requirements

Required:

  • Valid New York State driver's license.
