Job description

Purpose within the Organization:
We believe work should be meaningful and fun. The Student Engagement D.R.E.A.M. (Design, Research, Experience, Analytics, & Media) team is a student-centric marketing team made up of designers, videographers, photographers, project managers, and storytellers who are passionate about creating experiences that connect with students in real ways. Every project we take on is an opportunity to think differently, work together, and make an impact across campus.
Position Overview:
As a Videographer on the marketing & advertising team, you'll play a key role in bringing stories to life through video. From fast-paced social media content to large-scale event productions, you'll create visual experiences that capture attention and connect with students in meaningful ways. You'll collaborate with designers, event directors, and project managers to concept, produce, and deliver content that supports campus initiatives, promotes events, and strengthens internal engagement. Whether you're creating hype videos for upcoming events, documenting major campus experiences, or developing content for digital platforms, your work will help shape how students experience and engage with our community.
We're looking for someone who is both creative and adaptable. The ideal candidate is someone who can move between quick-turn projects and more complex productions while maintaining a strong eye for storytelling, pacing, and detail. If you enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-moving environment and want your work to have a visible impact, this role offers the opportunity to build your skills while creating content that matters.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
Videographer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Meet with clients in person or remotely to review projects.
  • Serve as a department ambassador and promote the department at events and activities.
  • Assist with social media or experiential marketing efforts.
  • Film and edit projects within a timely manner for Student Engagement teams.
  • Meet weekly with staff to discuss projects.

Equipment Used and Responsibility
  • Monday.com
  • MS Office
  • Canon Camera
  • Videography Equipment including but not limited to lighting, sound equipment, and other miscellaneous equipment.

Qualifications:
  • Proficient in video editing programs: Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Davinci Resolve
  • Must have a high level of technical skill in specified field.
  • Experience in videography using professional equipment.
  • Able to take and receive direction from Student Engagement staff for vision.
  • Able to work well with others in achieving the common goal of highlighting and marketing Student Engagement events.
  • Ability to lead peers and direct stylized promos.
  • Provide a videography portfolio upon request.
  • Must have own computer to do projects on.
  • Availability to work 10-20 hours per week.

Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy.
Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
