Position overview
Salary range: Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculation depending on specialty can range from $443,000-$529,000. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The University of California, Irvine, Department of Medicine, Mary & Steve Wen Cardiovascular Division is seeking Cardiologists for the Health Sciences Clinical series, at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank to join our expanding academic practice, for the following sub-specialties:

  • Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology
  • Cardiac Electrophysiology
  • General Cardiology
  • Interventional Cardiology

Criteria for the Professor in the HS Series: Health Sciences Clinical Professor series faculty engage in scholarly or creative activities which derive from and support their primary responsibilities in clinical teaching and professional and service activities

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include a mix of inpatient and outpatient care at our Orange or Irvine medical center. These responsibilities will include inpatient consultation and Cardiac Care Unit service. Outpatient clinic will be at our Orange, Irvine, outreach or community practice site(s). Candidates with requisite training experience will also interpret inpatient and outpatient echocardiograms, provide stress testing coverage, and perform transesophageal echocardiograms. Responsibilities will also include teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and medical students. Contributing to scholarly activities is also encouraged.

Must have either MD, DO or MBBS (or equivalent degree)
