What We're Looking For:

Current Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Technician or Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist license issued by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (required).

Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory testing principles, instrumentation, and quality control standards.

Ability to exercise sound judgment in the application of laboratory practices and procedures.

Strong attention to detail and adherence to turnaround-time expectations.

Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.

Knowledge of HIPAA, safety, and infection-control practices in a clinical laboratory setting.

What You Will Do:

You will perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory testing on patient specimens, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory and quality standards that support patient care and clinical decision-making.

Perform routine and specialized diagnostic laboratory tests on patient specimens.

Prepare and process specimens using appropriate reagents, stains, and solutions.

Conduct testing procedures according to standardized methodologies and departmental protocols.

Recognize abnormal or unexpected results and initiate appropriate follow-up actions.

Complete testing within required turnaround times, including STAT testing.

Accurately record, verify, and report laboratory results.

Assist with morgue duties once competency is established.

Perform quality control, calibration, and maintenance procedures on laboratory instrumentation.

Document quality control activities, corrective actions, and maintenance accurately.

Interpret results using delta checks and established verification processes.

Communicate critical values according to protocol and document required read-back confirmation.

Collaborate professionally with physicians, nursing staff, and laboratory colleagues.

Follow PPE requirements and laboratory safety protocols at all times.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.

Attend departmental meetings, organizational training, and continuing education activities.

Maintain a minimum of 12 continuing education units annually.

Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Perform all other duties as assigned.
