The Janitor is responsible for performing heavy cleaning duties to ensure buildings are maintained in a clean and orderly condition. This role involves using a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals, managing cleaning supplies, and notifying management of major repairs needed. Responsibilities: * Clean floors, shampoo rugs, wash walls and glass, remove rubbish, and vacuum areas to maintain cleanliness.
* Utilize power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and other cleaning equipment effectively.
* Follow procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and handle hazardous materials responsibly.
* Inspect and repair motorized cleaning equipment to ensure it is in working order.
* Track and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment needed for maintenance.
* Regularly inspect building operating systems and notify management of any necessary major repairs or improvements.
* Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Qualifications You Must Have: * High school diploma or GED equivalent.
* 1+ years of experience in a related field.
* Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
* Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and equipment operation.
* Ability to complete scheduled, routine tasks quickly and efficiently without close supervision.
* Must be capable of climbing stairs, ladders, and working on a stationary ladder.
* Familiarity with the safe use of tools and cleaning products.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance Qualifications We Prefer: * Certification in custodial or janitorial services.
* Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
* Familiarity with advanced cleaning equipment and safety procedures.
* Previous experience as a janitor
* Experience working with hand and power tools Essential Functions: * Ability to work on-site.
* Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
* Ability to stand and walk for most of the work shift.
* Manual dexterity to handle cleaning tools and equipment.
* Ability to work in potentially hazardous or loud environments.
