Job description

Job Summary: To produce a quality product in a safe and efficient manner.

Required Qualifications:

  • Weld certification

Critical Success Factors:

  • Excellent attendance
  • Ability to interact with Management Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the company's performance
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimum directions
  • Successful completion of Martinrea International's Orientation Program

Responsibilities:

  • Perform weld inspection of parts and distinguish a good weld from a defective weld
  • Perform manual weld rework as needed
  • Solve automation problems as they arise (i.e. weld tip changes, panel resets)
  • Follow work instructions and verbal directions to meet targeted production quotas
  • Ensure that only quality parts are passed onto the next operation, notify supervisor of quality related problems immediately
  • Complete all necessary documentation (production reports, quality alerts etc.) correctly and in a timely manner. Ask for assistance as required
  • Abide by all company polices including, but not limited to the following; Health and safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human resources policies, and Martinrea Employee Handbook
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Understand and be compliant with all State and Provincial laws as it relates to Harassment and Violence in the workplace
  • Competency Level of understanding of the processes and functions as they relate to the position as determined by the leadership team

Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company (Proper PPE)
  • Must report all accidents and near misses to Group Leader

  • Perform other duties as required
