Senior Internal Financial Auditor
LaSalle Network is hiring for a Senior Internal Financial Auditor with a community and commercial banking, specialty finance and wealth management-leading company known for delivering sophisticated solutions while staying true to relationship-focused, personalized service.
LaSalle Network is partnering with our client to hire a Senior Internal Financial Auditor for a Direct Hire opportunity based in Rosemont, Illinois. This Senior Internal Financial Auditor role supports a strong internal control environment and works closely with business partners and audit teams across the organization. The environment is fast-paced but offers improved work-life balance (typically 40-50 hours per week), making it a great fit for someone who enjoys impactful work without a traditional public busy season.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business partners to maintain SOX risk and control matrices and process flowcharts; identify areas where control or documentation enhancements are needed
  • Facilitate the annual SOX walkthrough and SOC1 process with business partners and internal and external audit
  • Assist with corporate initiatives through risk assessment and control evaluation related to new accounting standards, system conversions/implementations and new business processes
  • Analyze control exceptions and work with various levels of management to identify solutions and paths to remediation
  • Support audit groups (internal and external) in planning and completing audit engagements
  • Provide education and training to business partners on SOX control requirements to facilitate maintenance of a strong control environment
  • Assist with SOX scoping, quarterly reporting and other SOX program administration
  • Participate in special projects related to accounting and financial reporting matters

Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of audit experience (either from public with two busy seasons, or internal audit)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Experience supporting SOX controls, internal controls and related documentation (risk/control matrices, process flowcharts, walkthroughs)
  • CPA or CIA (or in process for the certification)
  • Banking or financial services sector audit experience preferred.
