Job description

The Role at a Glance

As a Driver, you’ll oversee customer moves, conduct vehicle inspections, and ensure safe transport of goods while delivering top-tier customer service. This role requires a clean driving record, physical strength, and strong communication. Experience in moving, delivery, or crew supervision is a plus. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, ensuring each move runs efficiently and professionally, representing Hilldrup with reliability and care. DOT physical, background check, and drug screening required.

How You’ll Contribute

As a Driver at Hilldrup, you’ll take on a leadership role by managing a team of up to five during customer moves. You’ll be responsible for conducting pre-trip inspections, transporting customer belongings safely, and ensuring each move is executed smoothly and efficiently. As the face of Hilldrup on the job site, you’ll be expected to uphold a high standard of professionalism and provide a quality experience for a diverse customer base.

To succeed in this role, you need a clean driving record and must be able to pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background check. You should have at least six months of professional driving experience and a strong commitment to customer service. Your ability to work well under pressure, communicate clearly, and lead by example will be key to maintaining customer satisfaction.

This is a physically demanding role that requires you to lift up to 100 pounds on your own and up to 400 pounds with a team. Previous experience in moving, delivery, or storage is helpful, and supervisory experience is a strong plus. Being dependable, punctual, and team-oriented is essential.

You’ll also need basic literacy and math skills to complete job-related paperwork and communicate effectively. In this fast-paced role, you’ll be expected to stay organized, follow directions carefully, and contribute to the overall success of each move. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Six (6) months to 1 year household goods experience
  • Pass DOT physical and drug screening
  • Virginia State Class A CDL and Valid driver’s license

  • Must complete UVL Packer and Mover certification training
