We craft custom cabinetry, molding, and furniture for upscale residential clients in Santa Barbara, Montecito, Pacific Palisades, and Beverly Hills. About the Role:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As a cabinetry apprentice, you will work under the guidance of experienced cabinet makers to learn the skills required to design, build, and install custom cabinets and other types of woodworking projects.

Duties:

  1. Assisting with the preparation of materials and tools for cabinet making, including cutting, shaping, and sanding wood and other materials.
  2. Learning and understanding cabinet-making plans and specifications and following them to create high-quality finished products.
  3. Assembling and installing cabinetry, including cabinets, drawers, and shelves, using a variety of hand and power tools.
  4. Measuring and cutting materials to specific dimensions to fit into custom spaces, and ensuring that all pieces fit together perfectly.
  5. Sanding, staining, and finishing cabinets to ensure a smooth and uniform appearance, and applying hardware such as knobs and handles.
  6. Learning to operate and maintain machinery such as saws, drills, and sanders, as well as safety procedures associated with using these machines.
  7. Maintaining a clean and organized work area, and assisting with inventory management and tracking of supplies and materials.
  8. Communicating effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

To succeed in this role, you should have a strong interest in woodworking and cabinetry making, a willingness to learn and take direction, and the ability to work collaboratively with others. You should also be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to lift and carry heavy materials as required. Some previous experience in woodworking or related fields may be preferred but is not required.


Qualification Requirements

  • Training Graduation from an accredited high school or vocational school.
  • Experience as a Apprentice carpenter or completion of a recognized apprenticeship in this work; or any equivalent combination of experience a
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Able to use common hand tools and power tools
  • PPE and carpentry trade tools
  • Troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Physical stamina for lifting equipment and working at various heights and in tight spaces

Essential Physical Tasks
