Position Overview

The Middle School Math Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that drives student achievement and fosters critical thinking. This role requires an educator who can create an engaging classroom culture, use data to inform instruction, and support students both academically and behaviorally.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, reflective, and committed to continuous growth while contributing positively to a strong school community.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Student Achievement

  • Use AMS curriculum and standards to plan, internalize, and deliver rigorous, differentiated instruction.

  • Create engaging lessons that support mastery of grade-level standards and mathematical concepts.

  • Administer formative and summative assessments aligned with the school assessment calendar.

  • Use student performance data to monitor growth and drive instructional decisions.

  • Maintain accurate and timely grade records that reflect student mastery and progress.

Classroom Culture & Student Support

  • Establish and uphold high expectations for student behavior and academic success.

  • Implement PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and intervention strategies to support students' social and emotional development.

  • Create an organized, joyful, and print-rich classroom environment aligned with campus-wide expectations.

  • Coordinate with administrators and staff to support students' academic and behavioral needs.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Participate in weekly professional development, grade-level planning, and professional learning communities.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and leadership in data analysis and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, phone calls, emails, and conferences to support student success.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support school-wide initiatives and perform other role-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

  • Demonstrated content knowledge in education and/or mathematics through degree, experience, or certification

  • Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

  • Arkansas State teaching certification strongly preferred

  • Master's degree or higher in Education preferred

  • Minimum of three years of full-time teaching experience preferred
