Job description

Exciting opportunities are available for experienced school nurses with a passion for making a positive impact across multiple campuses! This contract role offers the chance to support students throughout the district, collaborating with faculty and staff as an itinerant Licensed School Nurse. With responsibility for five schools during the 2026-2027 academic year, you'll play a vital role in promoting student health, wellness, and safety in a dynamic educational environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Public Health Nurse license
  • School Nurse license issued by the Board of Teaching
  • Current CPR and BLS certifications
  • Prior school nursing experience or experience in pediatric/child health is a plus
  • Strong communication, assessment, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize, collaborate, and adapt across multiple school locations
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary health resource for up to five schools districtwide
  • Provide assessment, intervention, and management of acute and chronic health conditions
  • Implement individualized health care and emergency care plans
  • Administer medications and monitor treatments as prescribed
  • Educate students, families, and staff regarding health and wellness matters
  • Participate in IEP/504 plan development and crisis response
  • Maintain accurate student health records and ensure compliance with state regulations
  • Collaborate with educators and local healthcare resources to optimize student support
