Openwork is partnering with a respected manufacturing company in Northeast Houston to hire an experienced Machine Operator (Shop Worker). This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled manufacturing professional looking for steady work, competitive pay, and long-term career potential.

We're looking for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and experienced operating heavy industrial machinery in a manufacturing environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Set up, operate, and monitor heavy production machinery
  • Operate a 15-foot industrial press used to press and form materials into panels
  • Assist with the setup and operation of a 500-ton machine
  • Monitor equipment and make adjustments to support efficient production
  • Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and specifications
  • Read and follow work orders and production requirements
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and routine equipment checks
  • Safely handle raw materials and finished products
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area
  • Follow all company production and safety procedures
What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience required
  • 2+ years of hands-on industrial machine operating experience required
  • Experience working with heavy production or fabrication equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to follow work orders and production instructions
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
  • Strong work ethic and safety awareness
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Availability to consistently work the first-shift schedule

Company-specific equipment training will be provided; however, previous industrial machine operating experience is required.

  • Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods
  • Frequent lifting, bending, and movement throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working around heavy industrial machinery and production noise
