The Opportunity

Are you a mechanical problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Salazar Fabrication is looking for a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our Houston-based team.

In this role, you will be the backbone of our service operations, performing essential maintenance and repairs at FedEx facilities throughout the region. Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $22.00 – $40.00 per hour (Dependent on Experience).
  • Overtime: Significant OT potential (paid at 1.5x hourly rate).

Schedule & Availability

  • Standard Hours: Full-Time | Mon–Fri | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST.
  • On-Call: Weekday on-call requirements and a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
  • Flexibility: Must be willing to respond to urgent repair needs to keep facility operations running smoothly.

What You’ll Do

As a Field Technician, you will ensure that FedEx distribution centers remain operational by maintaining their high-volume conveyor and sorting systems. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Mechanical Repairs: Diagnose, remove, and replace critical components including motors, gearboxes, shafts, and sprockets.
  • Conveyor Maintenance: Perform routine and emergency maintenance on industrial belts and tracking systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify mechanical failures and implement durable solutions to minimize facility downtime.
  • General Maintenance: Execute preventative maintenance schedules to extend the life of facility equipment.
  • Safety & Precision: Adhere to strict safety protocols while working around moving machinery and industrial equipment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven background in industrial maintenance, millwright work, or mechanical repair.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with hand/power tools and a strong understanding of mechanical drive systems.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English): Highly preferred and a major plus, though not required.
  • Location: Ability to commute to our headquarters at 7411 Domino Lane and travel to various FedEx sites in the Houston area.
  • Mindset: A "safety-first" professional who is reliable, punctual, and ready to tackle challenges.
