Company Profile:

The founders of Travis® Body & Trailer, Inc. began operations in 1989 after purchasing the facilities of CMC Trailers, Inc. in Houston, Texas. During the first year, Travis manufactured only the classic aluminum end dump trailer. These trailers were little changed from the older CMC designs from the 1970’s and 1980’s. Travis has grown rapidly in size and national market share since those early days. This growth was stimulated by both overall industry demand as well as by the determination of the Travis team to become number 1 in quality through both expert fabrication and innovation.

Job Purpose:

The primary objective of the material handler is to facilitate and maintain inventory and warehousing operations, ensuring the smooth flow of raw materials and essential supplies. This role demands exceptional organizational abilities and meticulous record-keeping skills. The ideal candidate should exhibit keen attention to detail and possess strong problem-solving capabilities. With a focus on safe operation, the material handler aims to guarantee that our operations consistently maintain a sufficient supply of materials. This may involve the operation of machinery such as forklifts and side loaders, executed with utmost care and adherence to safety protocols.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute receiving and warehousing processes/procedures. Guaranteeing timely stocking and organization of incoming materials and products
  • Interface with production supervisors and production manager on the staging of materials to support the production plan
  • Perform regular physical counts of inventory on a set schedule to maintain accurate inventory counts in Syteline.
  • Carry-out FIFO inventory process to insure oldest items are used first
  • Carryout 5S standards in work area
  • Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills, Experience and Education:

  • At least 2 years of continuous production/manufacturing plant exposure in a warehousing or material mover/handler role
  • At least 1 years of shipping & receiving experience, preferred but not required
  • At least 1 years of experience in ERP systems preferred, but not required
  • Experience in warehousing operations, inventory count and material locations
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • HS Diploma required
  • Valid TX DL

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Regularly pulling and pushing 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Repeated reaching over head
  • Regularly kneeling, stooping, bending and turning at waist
  • Regularly climbing ladder above 2 ft.
  • Able to operate forklift
  • Able to wear PPE at all times: safety glasses, steel to shoes, etc.

Required Work Hours and Schedules:

  • Monday thru Friday 7:00A – 04:30P
  • Additional overtime as needed
