Job Summary/Description:  

KPLC 7 News seeks a producer ready to work with an award-winning news team. The producer will work closely with news managers, fellow producers, reporters, photographers, and anchors to create high-quality, high-energy, innovative, and authentic reports for broadcast and digital platforms.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, production of local newscasts, managing on-air products, contributing story/segment ideas, helping live crews execute reports, and generating content for all station platforms. Ability to respond quickly and aggressively to breaking news is vital and includes skills in writing news/web copy, editing video for news and social media, and shooting in the field. News judgment, combined with creative presentation ideas and excellent writing skills are key.

Please note - primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the information listed above  

Qualifications/Requirements:

- A degree in Journalism or related field, previous work or internship in journalism is a plus, someone who can identify great video and compelling sound bites, has solid news judgment, excellent communication skills, the ability to edit video, and the ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Candidates must have the ability to meet deadlines, multitask in a fast-paced environment, write concise stories, navigate breaking news, and be flexible with respect to scheduling and/or assigned work shifts.
