Schedule: Full-Time | 6am-6pm | Every Other Weekend Required

About the Role

Plum Creek Chicago, a supportive living community, is seeking a dependable and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, flavorful meals that enhance the dining experience for our residents.

You will work closely with the dietary team to ensure menus meet residents' dietary needs, preferences, and nutritional requirements while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness.

The ideal candidate enjoys cooking, takes pride in their work, and is committed to creating a positive dining experience for seniors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements
  • Ensure food is prepared, served, and stored in accordance with all food safety and sanitation regulations
  • Collaborate with the dietary team to support menu planning and resident satisfaction
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
  • Monitor food quality, freshness, portion control, and presentation standards
  • Assist with inventory management, food storage, and supply organization
  • Support special events, holiday meals, and community functions as needed
  • Accommodate special dietary needs and preferences to promote resident well-being and satisfaction
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to maintain compliance with community and regulatory standards
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen sanitation practices
