Job Duties
  • Under broad direction, leads the Strategic Sourcing Team guides team through the strategic sourcing process to determine the optimum solution for internal customer needs based on market capabilities.
  • Analyzes, develops and leads the implementation of the global sourcing strategy for designated projects usually lasting for six to nine months.
  • The team lead will be responsible for the reduction of Total Cost of Ownership without compromising business strategy.
  • Spend sourced annually for this role will typically be complex in nature and comprise of 100+ million (US dollars).
  • Manages data analysis, cost modeling, and RF(x) development on spend for designated projects; leads the team through processes to conduct internal needs analysis; determines optimum supplier solutions; selects strategic suppliers and negotiates agreements.
  • Develops and executes implementation plans to ensure the successful implementation of sourcing strategy.
  • Job role contributes directly to value creation. 
Qualifications
  • Skills are typically acquired through an undergraduate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or similar discipline and a minimum of 5-8 years related experience in strategic sourcing, manufacturing, procurement, logistics, field operations and/or project management.
  • Strategic Sourcing training and practical Strategic Sourcing experience.
  • Very good Technical-Commercial knowledge and aptitude to support the Strategic Sourcing Team with Technical Sourcing requests: understand and interpret  technical documents (drawings, requirements, specifications...) to develop Strategic Sourcing solutions and effectively communicate with Technical stakeholders.
  • Supervisory experience to lead a small team up to 5 to 7 team members.
  • SAP knowledge is preferred.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel (i.e. Pivot Tables, Look-up Functions, Graphs...), Word and Power Point knowledge needed.
  • Technical education (i.e. Industrial Engineering, Engineering or similar) is preferred. 

Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirements will receive consideration for higher level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and/or (3) business needs.  Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available, including Strategic Sourcing Team Lead or Senior Strategic Sourcing Team Lead.
