Job description

Westerwood is actively seeking a Part-Time 5am-12:30pm Cook to add to our exceptional team and community. This position requires Sunday-Saturday availability.

The Cook is a key member of the Dining Services team, responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality food items in accordance with standardized recipes, special diet orders, and Westerwood community standards. The Cook promotes a positive resident and customer experience through excellence in food preparation, presentation, and service.

Job duties:

Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces, boils, braises and roasts items according to procedures; Prepares the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours assuring that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved; and Determines and obtains the amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus.

Qualifications:

  • Preference to candidates with experience as a Cook in all stations of hotel, institutional or restaurant operations.

  • Ability to work weekends

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic.

  • Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
