Schedule & Home Time
  • Full-time, 5-day work week
  • Weekend shifts required
  • Consecutive days off provided during the week
  • Dispatch times between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM
  • Primarily home daily
  • Occasional layovers may be required

What You'll Do

As a Local Class A CDL Truck Driver, you will:

  • Complete approximately 60–70 multi-stop deliveries per week
  • Deliver coffee, milk, and other temperature-controlled products to retail locations
  • Load and unload products from refrigerated trailers
  • Use a hand dolly and lift gate to unload products
  • Perform high-volume loading and unloading throughout the route
  • Scan products as they are unloaded and delivered
  • Verify deliveries and maintain accurate delivery information
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service
  • Follow all DOT, safety, and company procedures
  • Complete required vehicle inspections and maintain safe operating practices

Equipment

Drivers will operate:

  • Late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks
  • Dual-zone refrigerated trailers for temperature-controlled freight
  • Automatic transmissions
  • Best-in-class equipment designed for driver comfort and safety
  • Inward- and outward-facing in-cab cameras

Qualifications

To qualify for this Local Class A CDL Truck Driver position, you must:

  • Hold a valid Class A CDL
  • Be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in your state of residence
  • Hold or be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card
  • Have at least 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience within the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience within the last 5 years
  • Have a 3-year DMV/MVR record with no more than two moving violations or accidents
  • Follow all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and company requirements
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Be available to work the required 5-day schedule, including weekends
  • Complete the Penske employment application
  • Pass a background investigation, including employment, education, and criminal history checks
  • Pass a required drug screening
  • Meet federal English language proficiency requirements for commercial motor vehicle drivers
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and operate safely at all times
