The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) to deliver high-quality therapy services that help residents improve mobility, restore physical function, reduce pain, and enhance independence in daily activities.

Physical Therapist Assistant Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility tasks.

  • Assist residents in improving strength, range of motion, and overall physical endurance.

  • Monitor and document residents’ treatments, progress, and responses in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.

  • Communicate effectively with the supervising PT regarding residents’ status, changes, and potential adjustments to care plans.

  • Provide education to residents, families, and caregivers on exercise programs, mobility techniques, and safety measures.

  • Adhere to facility policies, professional practice standards, and regulatory requirements, including documentation and infection control.

Physical Therapist Assistant Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.

  • Current and valid licensure/certification in the state of GA.

  • CPR certification required (or must obtain upon hire).

  • Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred.

  • Strong clinical, communication, and teamwork skills.
