Job description

Job Title: Therapist

Reports to: Director of Community Services, and Clinic Manager.

Summary of Responsibilities: Responsible for providing counseling services to clients and their families, maintain education, work in communities for marketing and referral development. May be required to travel and serve all clinics.

Special Qualifications:

Education: Licensed or certified in an area of Social Work/Addiction/Counseling.

Experience: Minimum of two years post masters experience or requirement of a minimum of two years supervision.

Abilities: Understanding of Addiction and Mental Illnesses. Ability to document Family, Group, and Individual ounseling. All aspects of case management.

Physical Requirements:

Due to safety concerns candidates must be able to perform these pre-requisite physical tasks:

  • Straight pulling (3-4 hours / shift)
  • Pushing (3-4 hours / shift)
  • Reaching above shoulder (1 hour / shift)
  • Use of fingers
  • Both hands required
  • Walking unassisted (8 hours)

Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative assistance as needed.
  • Provides vibrant, meaningful Counseling services in locations as determined by the Clinic/Hospital.
  • Assists in professional staff supervision and relations such as recruitment as necessary.
  • Participates in and actively supports the Clinic/Hospital’s teaching and referral programs.
  • Assists in supervision of other counselors.
  • Assists in Quality Improvement and review of the professional performances of the Professional Staff members and other clinical professionals designated to perform professional and clinical duties by the Clinic/hospital.
  • Assists the Director of Community Services in facilitating the marketing of the Clinic/Hospital and participate in the community liaison and marketing functions.
  • Assists in the provision of professional and community education seminars either in the Hospital or at other appropriate medical, business, or psychiatric facilities as deemed appropriate by the Clinic/Hospital.
  • Attends and actively participates in civic and professional organizations as determined by the Clinic/Hospital.
  • Remains an active member of Hospital Professional Staff and its committees and abides by the Medical Staff By laws and Rules and Regulations.
  • Abides by the policies and procedures of the Clinic/Hospital.
  • Maintains legible, accurate records on all patients according to the policies of the Clinic/Hospital.
  • Maintains positive, professional rapport with all clients and other staff.
  • Conducts assessments at time of intake to include psychosocial history and assessment.
  • Performs group therapy and/or support groups on behalf of the community.
  • Assists in developing additional services in order to better serve the community.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
