Job description

Experienced Crown and Bridge Technician

Johns Dental Laboratories is seeking a full-time Crown & Bridge Technician. Since 1939, our mission has been to provide the highest level of quality in all of our dental prosthetics and appliances-one case at a time. We do this by employing highly skilled technicians who we consider our greatest asset, while reinvesting in new technology and techniques to better serve our doctors and their patients.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • the ability to complete all departmental production tasks from start to finish (impression to delivery)
  • experience with designing single to multiple unit crowns, bridges, and implant cases
  • experience designing and scanning with 3Shape software for implants, crowns, and bridges.
  • proficiency in the fabrication and customization of lifelike ceramic dental restorations, including crowns, bridges, veneers, and implant restorations
  • experience with PFM, Full Cast, Emax Implants, and MiYO Esthetics System.
  • experience with contouring and finishing zirconia crowns
  • proficiency in mimicking the shade of the patient’s natural teeth by means of contouring, porcelain layering, shading, staining, glazing, and polishing techniques
  • the ability to perform tasks such as pouring impressions, trimming models, trimming dies, and articulation
  • ensure that restorations meet functional and aesthetic standards by performing quality control inspections prior to delivery
  • Knowledge of dental anatomy, occlusion, and esthetics
  • Strong artistic, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity skills
  • Ability to interpret dentist instructions, case notes, and digital scans
  • Ability to discuss cases with doctors over the phone and by email
  • Ability to train department staff
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to maximize production and time to organize daily workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to perform routine arithmetic calculations
  • Must be able to read calipers, scales, and graphics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Three years or longer in a dental laboratory
  • Certified Dental Technologist
  • Knowledge of Labtrac
  • Coding knowledge

Compensation:

Competitive wages for the right candidate.

Working conditions:

Work will be done in crown/bridge and ceramic designated areas and in a laboratory environment which may contain elements of airborne particles, fumes and gases, high density noise producing machinery and experience elevated temperatures resulting from equipment.

Physical requirements:Most work is done while sitting although some standing may be required for a case. Walking, bending and flexing arms, wrists, hands and fingers, grasping, and turning head and torso. Must meet vision requirements of the position.
