Job Title: Commercial Manager โ€“US Scientific BU

Location: Pennsylvania preferred, as our office is based there; remote within the U.S. is acceptable. This role requires frequent domestic travel.

Position Summary:
The US Commercial Manager, Scientific is responsible for leading and driving the overall commercial performance of the Scientific product portfolio in the United States. This role oversees direct sales, channel development, market expansion, and commercial strategy execution.
The ideal candidate has solid experience in capital equipment and scientific instrument sales, strong channel management capability, and proven success in driving revenue growth in a competitive market.

Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth:
  • Develop and execute annual sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
  • Drive direct sales activities for scientific equipment, instruments and related solutions.
  • Manage key accounts and strategic customers, including research institutions, biotech companies, universities, hospitals, and industrial labs.
  • Build accurate sales forecasts and pipeline management processes.
  • Lead pricing strategy and commercial negotiations.
Channel Development & Management:
  • Identify, appoint, and develop distributors and channel partners across the US.
  • Set clear KPIs and performance expectations for channel partners.
  • Monitor channel performance and implement improvement plans when necessary.
  • Provide product and application training to distributors.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and brand positioning.

Market Development & Marketing Execution:
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for new product launches.
  • Collaborate with global product management and marketing teams.
  • Support trade shows, exhibitions, and technical seminars.
  • Build strong brand presence in the US scientific market.

Strategic & Operational Management:
  • Prepare annual budgets and manage commercial expenses.
  • Provide regular business reviews and reporting to global leadership.
  • Drive process optimization and improve commercial efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Biotechnology, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 8โ€“12 years of experience in laboratory equipment and/or scientific instrument sales.
  • Proven experience in capital equipment sales.
  • Strong track record in US market development and channel management.
  • Experience selling to research labs, universities, pharma, biotech, or industrial customers.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel within the US (up to 50โ€“60%).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business acumen.
  • Hands-on and execution-driven.
  • Capable of working in a global matrix organization.
  • Experience working with international manufacturers is a plus.
