Job description

Superintendent - Commercial/Industrial Construction (Union)

Seeking a Superintendent - Commercial/Industrial Construction (Union) to fill a position due to business growth in the Greater Fort Wayne, IN area for our Design-Build Construction Firm client. You will coordinate all jobsite activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards — while exceeding client expectations. You will supervise field personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers, fostering strong relationships across the full project team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver who sees what needs to be done and gets it done, comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

Superintendent Responsibilities:

  • Lead site coordination, layout, access, and logistics to optimize safety and productivity while maintaining cleanliness and organization across all trades.
  • Resolve site-level conflicts and constraints proactively, ensuring work meets project specs and driving timely corrective action through quality inspections and punch list walks.
  • Maintain and communicate the look-ahead schedule, identify and mitigate schedule risks, and coordinate subcontractor readiness.
  • Monitor labor, equipment, and material usage against budget; identify scope changes or cost impacts and communicate them to project management.
  • Enforce site-wide safety compliance through daily inspections, toolbox talks, and safety training; lead incident response, documentation, and reporting.
  • Represent the company professionally in all client interactions, OAC meetings, and site walkthroughs, ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and client satisfaction.
  • Lead the team through clear communication, motivation, sound judgment, accountability, and active listening — supporting all team members as needed.

Superintendent Profile:

  • 10+ years of commercial/industrial construction experience
  • Experience as lead superintendent on projects valued at $3M+
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Procore experience desired but not required
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute construction work as defined in drawings, specifications, addenda, submittals, technical manuals, and product/material installation instructions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods)
  • Ability to implement and follow company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Excellent communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills
  • Comfort working within an EOS-driven organization

Superintendent Benefits:

  • Pay Rate: $38–$45/hr
  • Medical benefits covering 90% of employee premiums and 40% for dependents
  • Paid vacation and wellness time
  • Traditional and Roth 401k, 100% match up to 4%, immediately vested
  • Take-home vehicle
  • Structured bonus plan
  • Education reimbursement for employees, based on qualifications
  • Business expenses and mileage reimbursement
  • Structured onboarding support to set you up for success from day one
  • Career Growth Opportunity
