Job description

Standard Job Description
As the CAD/CAM Senior Engineer- Level 3 within Software Engineer organization, you will be responsible for integrating advanced AI capabilities into our CAD/CAM workflows and supporting cross-functional aerospace design teams.
Your responsibilities will include: Design, Analysis, and integrate generative AI tools (e.g., design assistants, topology optimization engines) into existing CAD/CAM workflows. Create and maintain prompt-engineering libraries and best-practice guides for AI-assisted modeling, simulation, and documentation. Evaluate AI model performance on accuracy and latency, and recommend improvements. Provide day-to-day technical assistance to aerospace design teams, ensuring AI-augmented solutions improve productivity and quality. Author and update methods, standards, processes, and training material that incorporate AI workflows. Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications
• B.S. (or higher) in an Engineering Discipline
• Proficiency with major CAD (NX, CATIA, 3DX) and PLM (Teamcenter, ENOVIA) platforms.
• Minimum knowledge in program languages (C++, Python, JAVA, MATLAB)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
• Basic understanding of modern generative AI models and application
Desired Skills
• Preferred Engineering Disciplines are Aerospace, Mechanical, Civil, or Computer Science
• Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and/or CAD Data Management tools
• Education or experience developing assistants on industry-leading open-source AI models such as llama or gpt.
• Strong understanding of Prompt Engineering principles
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Experience in software testing and overseeing unit testing for software deployment
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $98100.00 - $182100.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
